Original DALL·E 2 Generated Image

Refined DALL·E 2 Generated Image

Proposal
AI-generated art poster with historical artistic influence.
Avocado concept fused with the Art Deco movement.
Research on later art movements (Pop Art, Tamara de Lempicka).
Decision to exclude Pop Art due to color palette clash.
Influences: Art Deco, Pop Art, Tamara de Lempicka.
Influences were compiled and sketched out using Craiyon AI image generator
Experimentation, Final Print, and Printing Pointers
Used DALL·E 2's outpainting feature for poster rendering.
AI art generations combined in a collage.
Successful synthesis with surreal aesthetics and avant-garde composition.
Program's excellence in capturing Tamara de Lempicka's style.
Editing poster by expanding edges and arranging generated letters to spell "avocado."
Organized halftone layers by print order with registration marks.
Experimented with the print order to determine how layer arrangement changes the color and mood of the poster.
Inclusion of registration marks and dye lines in all layers for easy registration.
Impulsive start led to manual registration for each layer, prompting a restart.
Revised registration process by taping flush to the paper's corners for consistency.
Addressed ink drying issue by adding more transparency base and working in a quicker, consistent rhythm.
Project Refinement: Collateral Mockups
I continued digital refinement of this concept after printing wrapped up.
Utilizing a range of crops and DALL·E 2 outpainting expansions, I created a set of posters ranging in scale based on the original AI-generated image.
With mockups, I could give a sense of scale for the approximate size of each design in a practical application.

Project Reflection
Synthesis of influences and technical work marked growth as a screen printer and designer.
Dynamic crossroad between the history and future of the medium.
Gained a sense of scale through small and expanded renderings.
Tested scalability through collateral mockups.
Thoroughly enjoyed the project and materialization.
Embarkment on a similar project with refined processes and fewer errors.
